In 1990, Ambassadors In Sport (AIS) began in Bolton, England, founded by a group called Missionary Athletes International. From the beginning, the aim of AIS has been to partner with churches and Christian groups to develop grass roots football ministry.
The work goes on through football camps, clinics, prison ministry, school ministry, men's and women's teams, international tours and major sports event ministries such as World Cup Outreach and Olympics Outreach.
Our vision:
Mission: To communicate the good news of Jesus Christ to all countries and people groups through football.
Vision: To see indigenous football ministry in every country and people group, empowering the Church to engage the football culture at every level, leading to the transformation of individuals and communities through the power of the Gospel.
We are committed to:
The establishment of AIS Regional Bases, Indigenous Offices & Satellite Works.
Effective relationships, partnerships & networks.
The growth of AIS models globally.
Statement of faith
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
We believe there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true Man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a Sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate. He will return to consummate our salvation and establish His glorious Kingdom.
We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict and regenerate the believing sinner. He indwells, guides, instructs and empowers the believer for godly living and service.
We believe man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is, therefore, lost; only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
We believe the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ by faith as Savior and Lord are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus, become children of God.
